eBay.de does not charge a separate “dropshipping fee”

When you dropship on eBay Germany (eBay.de) you pay the same seller fee stack as other sellers on that site—not a special “dropshipping” SKU. Structure differs sharply by account type:

  • Private sellers (Privat) with residence in the EEA: Help states selling within Germany is free of the usual Verkaufsprovision path, though optional upgrades, ads and cross-border delivery can still cost.
  • Business sellers (Gewerblich): Angebotsgebühr (listing/insertion), Verkaufsprovision (final value % of the total transaction amount + fixed per-order fee), Shop packages, international fee rules, optional extras, and MwSt on fees as Help frames them.

Exact category percentages change. This guide maps components, contrasts private vs business, walks through labelled Hypothetical worksheets, and bookmarks official eBay.de Help—not third-party blogs—as the source of truth. For the UK/US sibling structure, see eBay dropshipping fees explained (UK and US).

Rates checked for this article: live fetch of eBay.de Help for business sellers and private sellers on 11 September 2026. Re-open those URLs in Seller Hub / Help before you price a batch—fees change.

This is not tax, VAT or legal advice. MwSt / Unternehmer status is general orientation only—confirm with official Help and a qualified adviser.

What “fees” means when you dropship on eBay.de

Cost stack for a typical dropship sale:

  1. Supplier cost (item)
  2. Postage / shipping you actually pay (and any amount you collect from the buyer)
  3. eBay.de seller fees (private path vs business path)
  4. Optional Anzeigen / Promoted Listings-style ads
  5. Your profit floor
  6. Tax / import / IoSS / OSS obligations as they apply to you—outside the fee schedule; seek professional advice

On the business Help page we read, the Gesamtbetrag (total amount of the sale) used for Verkaufsprovision includes item price, handling, buyer-chosen shipping, Umsatzsteuer and other applicable charges as eBay defines them—confirm live wording. There is no special eBay SKU called “dropshipping fee.” Policy, IP (VeRO) and honest fulfilment still apply—see eBay VeRO for dropshippers.

Private sellers (Privat): how to read the official page

Open: Gebühren für private Verkäufer.

Structure (from Help checked 11 Sep 2026)

Piece What Help describes
Domestic DE selling “Der Verkauf von Artikeln auf eBay.de ist innerhalb Deutschlands kostenlos.” Fees can still apply for Zusatzoptionen, Anzeigen, or shipping to other countries
Who is excluded from this free path Business sellers, eBay Live sellers, and private sellers outside the EEA use other schedules
Angebotsgebühr 320 listings/month without listing fee; then EUR 0.50 per extra listing (with auto-relist / Gültig bis auf Widerruf nuances—read Help)
Extra auction allotment Help describes further free auction allotments with conditions (e.g. start price EUR 1.00, duration exclusions)—confirm live
International (ebay.de listing, ship outside DE) 5% of Gesamtbetrag when delivery address is outside Germany
Non-EEA private sellers Separate Verkaufsprovision path on the same Help article (variable % + per-order)—do not mix with EEA domestic free path

Dropship reality check: most serious AliExpress → eBay.de volume sellers operate as business sellers. If you are unsure whether you are Privat or Gewerblich under German law, that is a legal/tax question—not something a Chrome extension or this blog post decides.

Hypothetical private example — not a quote for your account

Hypothetical example (labelled for clarity). Assumptions for illustration only:

  • Site: eBay.de, private seller, EEA-resident path
  • Buyer delivery address in Germany
  • No Anzeigen, no paid Zusatzoptionen, still inside free listing allotment
  • Item sells
Line Hypothetical amount
Gesamtbetrag (item + postage as Help would treat it) EUR 35.00
Verkaufsprovision (domestic private free path) EUR 0.00
Angebotsgebühr (inside allotment) EUR 0.00
eBay fees subtotal EUR 0.00
Suppose supplier landed cost EUR 18.00
Hypothetical margin before ads/returns/tax EUR 17.00

Change to a non-German delivery address on the private international rule above and Help’s 5% international fee theme would apply on the Gesamtbetrag—plug your live Help figure. This worksheet is not permission to treat commercial dropshipping as private selling.

Business sellers (Gewerblich): how to read the official page

Open: Gebühren für gewerbliche Verkäufer.

Help (checked 11 Sep 2026) frames three main fee families: Verkaufsprovision when the item sells, Angebotsgebühr when you list, and Zusatzoptionen. Fees on that page are shown ohne Mehrwertsteuer.

Verkaufsprovision structure (from Help)

Piece What Help describes
Variable % Category-specific % of Gesamtbetrag (see Help tables—do not invent a single “eBay DE takes X%”)
Per-order fee EUR 0.35 per order; EUR 0.45 when order Gesamtbetrag over EUR 10.00
Gesamtbetrag base Item price + handling + buyer-chosen shipping + Umsatzsteuer + other applicable charges (Help wording)
Condition discounts Many categories show a lower 5% path for certain used / refurbished / “Neu: Sonstige” style conditions—read the footnote on Help
Shop discounts Platinum Shop themes and growth discounts—follow Shop Help; do not guess
Below-standard add-ons Separate Help for low service status—can raise provision

Category reading guide (excerpt from Help — not a full rate card)

Re-open the live tables. Examples present on the business Help page when we fetched it:

Theme on Help Example rows (confirm live)
Technik devices e.g. Computer/Tablets/Netzwerk 7% (devices); many accessories 12%; certain conditions 5%
Garten / Heimwerker / Business e.g. Business & Industrie 14%; Garten & Terrasse 13%; Heimwerker 13% (with 5% condition path on Help)
Soft “standard” band e.g. Sport, Baby, Haustierbedarf, Möbel & Wohnen 14% on Help’s Übersicht table (with 5% condition path)
Tiered retail paths e.g. Kleidung & Accessoires 12% to EUR 990 then 3% above; Spielzeug and many media paths similar tiering—read your row
Watches / jewellery Higher bands with Shop vs no-Shop thresholds on Help

Always use your category row. Forums that say “eBay DE is always 12%” are wrong for your invoice.

Angebotsgebühren and Shop (from Help)

Piece Help snapshot (11 Sep 2026 fetch)
No Shop Festpreis EUR 0.35 per listing
No Shop Auktion EUR 0.50 per listing
With Shop Monthly free allotment + discounted extra Festpreis fees—compare subscription cost on Shop Help
Non-refundable Listing fees generally not refunded if the item does not sell

International fee (business, DE-registered address)

Help stated (fetch date above):

  • If you use eBay Internationaler Versand on eligible offers: no international fee on eligible sales. Help also noted a change theme: from 8 September 2026, international fee drops for sellers using eBay International Shipping—confirm live wording.
  • If you do not use that programme: fee when delivery address is outside the Eurozone and outside Sweden, by destination band:
Destination band (Help) International fee on Gesamtbetrag
Eurozone and Sweden Free
Other Europe* (ex Sweden, Eurozone, UK) 1.6%
UK 1.2%
USA and Canada (see Help table grouping)
All other countries 3.3%

*Europe list is defined on Help—open the live page. If your registered address is not in Germany, use the fee page for your residence country.

Hypothetical business example — not a quote for your account

Hypothetical example (labelled for clarity). Assumptions for illustration only:

  • Site: eBay.de, business seller, no Shop
  • Category: using Help’s Spielzeug tiered path as an example row12% on portion up to EUR 990 (confirm live)
  • Gesamtbetrag: EUR 40.00 (item + postage + applicable tax as Help defines)
  • Order over EUR 10 → per-order fee EUR 0.45
  • Domestic German buyer → no international fee under the non-EIS table
  • Listing already covered by allotment or ignored for this worksheet → EUR 0
  • No Anzeigen
  • MwSt on eBay fees not modelled—Help shows fees ex-VAT; your invoice may add VAT. Not tax advice.
Line Hypothetical amount
Gesamtbetrag EUR 40.00
Verkaufsprovision variable (12% × EUR 40.00) EUR 4.80
Per-order fee EUR 0.45
eBay fees subtotal (ex-VAT, ex-supplier) EUR 5.25
Suppose supplier item + ship costs you EUR 22.00
Hypothetical margin before ads/returns/VAT-on-fees EUR 12.75

Swap in your Help category %, add Anzeigen at the rate you actually run, or add an international band when Help says it applies—and the margin moves.

Private vs business: side-by-side (conceptual)

Do not treat this table as a rate card—treat it as a map of where to look.

DE vs UK/US (why you need the sibling post)

Topic eBay.de eBay.co.uk / eBay.com
Account split Privat vs Gewerblich Help articles UK private vs business; US individual/Store
Free private domestic Strong DE private theme UK private path differs—see UK Help
Regulatory operating fee Not the UK “0.35% regulatory” story UK business Help includes regulatory operating fee

Same dropship economics lesson: final value on total sale as Help defines it + fixed per-order + optional ads. Different tables.

Dropshipping pricing workflow (fee-aware on DE)

  1. Confirm you are pricing for ebay.de (not a US blog’s %).
  2. Confirm Privat vs Gewerblich and Shop level.
  3. Open the matching official Help URL and copy your category row.
  4. Add per-order, listing, international and Anzeigen lines from Help.
  5. Add real supplier landed cost.
  6. Set a profit floor.
  7. Build the listing, then review the eBay draft before List.

Process guides:

Common DE fee mistakes that wipe AliExpress margins

  • Pricing from a forum’s single “Germany is X%” number
  • Using private free-path math while selling as a business
  • Forgetting Verkaufsprovision often applies to postage when Help defines Gesamtbetrag to include it
  • Ignoring EUR 0.45 per-order on cheap items over EUR 10
  • Cross-border international surprises (private 5% theme vs business bands / EIS)
  • Running Anzeigen on a listing that was already thin at break-even
  • Ignoring MwSt on fees display vs invoice
  • Listing branded goods to “make the fee back”—VeRO removals cost more (VeRO)
